Thanksgiving 2016

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We had a really nice pre-Thanksgiving weekend up on the hill and we're looking forward to seeing many more friends noon to 5 pm Friday through Sunday this coming weekend. We made a few changes in the tasting room to accommodate more people and reorganized our crush pad to provide a place for musicians to play to more guests.

Wine tasting this weekend will include our Oregon Wine Press ‘Cellar Select’ 2014 Zenith Vineyard Pinot Noir and 2015 Chardonnay. If we have a busy weekend, the Zenith Pinot Noir may indeed sell out, so this may be your last opportunity to purchase this wine! (Note, our 2014 Barrel Select Pinot Noir sold out about a month ago.) We’re also going to be pouring tastes of our 2015 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and two dessert wines: our 2016 Late Harvest Style Riesling and the 2016 100% Bing Cherry Dessert wine. All three of these wines received great reviews last weekend. The 2015 Pinot Noir is a blend produced from all the vineyards we source Pinot from including our first estate fruit, and the Cherry Dessert wine is port-style (17% ABV) sweet dessert wine made from Oregon Bing Cherries grown in the Hood River valley. All three will be released in the spring of 2017 and will not be offered for tasting again in our tasting room for several months.

Also, we’re going to be hosting Sassy Girl’s Kitchen food cart on site, Saturday and Sunday; Sassy Girl was on site last weekend and received rave reviews for her homemade egg rolls and coconut shrimp. Bring your appetite!

We have music on tap for the weekend. On Saturday, November 26th Breakers Yard, an eclectic acoustic band, will be playing from 2 - 5 pm.

Recently relocated to Monroe from San Francisco, Lisa Lynne and her special guest, George Tortorelli will entertain us with Celtic music on Sunday, November 27th from 2 - 5 pm.

We’re really grateful for your friendship and support of our endeavor here at Bluebird Hill, to make small lot Willamette Valley wines and provide you all with a comfortable and friendly atmosphere to sit back, enjoy friendship and great wine!

We're looking forward to a great weekend of catching up and making plans to rendezvous with our ‘Friends of the Winery’ over the winter.

Cheers,

Neil & Sue
